Rupee Circulation Increased in Afghanistan
After the collapse of Afghanistan’s banking system, the use of the Pakistani Rupee has surged in several districts of Afghanistan, according to news reports from Peshawar.
Due to the Taliban’s limitations on Afghanistan’s banking and money exchange, the people have began utilizing Pakistani currency in several areas since the collapse of the banking system over the previous few months.

Although shops do not openly accept Pakistani rupees, the value of the Afghani has decreased during the past month, resulting in a decrease in the exchange rate.
Small business owners and citizens in Afghanistan use Pakistani rupees for daily transactions and food purchases.
He added that provinces bordering Pakistan prefer the rupee over the Afghani since changing the rupee to Afghan currency would incur a 10% loss.
Despite the government’s hostility to its use in the past, the use of the rupee has decreased over time. However, due to Taliban control, the situation has changed dramatically.

According to a dealer named Hameed Khan, rupees are also required to import goods from Pakistan, as both Pakistani and Afghan dealers prefer to conduct business in Pakistani currency due to the unrest in Afghanistan.
Khan added that a joint commission was created a few days ago by a number of civilian and military agencies to monitor shopkeepers and the general public who traded in Pakistani currency.
