Russia Keen to Develop ‘Waste-to-Energy Plant’ Near Karachi
At the request of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Russian experts have agreed to give their ideas for modernizing Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM). For this, a study visit will be done.

This became clear when a group of Russian officials, led by their adviser Andrey Zubal, met with the CM of Sindh and talked about things that were important to both countries, according to a statement from the government released Tuesday night.
Consul General of Russia in Karachi, Rus Welding, Dr. Aleksandr G. Khozin, Ahmed Rana of Concord Ventures (PVT) limited, and Attaché of the Russian Consulate, Pavel Yamanov, are all part of the delegation.

Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, Chairman P&D M Waseem, PSCM Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary for Local Government Najam Shah, and Secretary for Energy Tariq Shah all helped the chief minister.
CM Murad said that when PSM shut down, a lot of people who worked there lost their jobs.
At the meeting, it was decided that the steel project’s modernization would be given top priority. Its viability and method would be studied and shared with the provincial government.
