SG Power Limited has appointed Umer Ali Malik as its Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect, according to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The company stated that the appointment reflects the board’s focus on accelerating strategic growth, improving operational performance, and enhancing shareholder value.
Alongside the appointment, the board has tasked the new CEO with developing a comprehensive, future-focused business plan. The objective is to transition the company from its current operations into a scalable, high-growth model aligned with emerging market opportunities and long-term sustainability.
The disclosure also confirms that Malik has been authorized to explore strategic capital initiatives. These include equity-based fundraising, forming strategic partnerships, and implementing financial restructuring measures to strengthen liquidity and support the company’s transformation into a growth-oriented business.
SG Power Limited, incorporated in 1994 and based in Karachi, is a listed utility company that has historically been involved in generating and supplying electricity to its associated group entity. However, recent signals from the company indicate a shift toward a broader business strategy aimed at expanding its growth potential.
