Saudi Arabia has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli airstrikes on Tehran that killed several senior Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists, calling the attacks a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to regional stability. The statement, released by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the Israeli actions as an unacceptable assault on Iranian sovereignty and a serious breach of international norms.

The Kingdom expressed its “strong condemnation and denunciation of the blatant Israeli aggressions against the brotherly Islamic Republic of Iran,” emphasizing that the strikes could trigger wider instability across the Middle East. The ministry urged the United Nations Security Council and the broader international community to take immediate steps to halt the violence and prevent a deepening of the regional crisis.

Saudi Arabia’s call for international intervention follows a series of deadly Israeli airstrikes on Tehran, which resulted in the targeted killing of Iran’s top military commander, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, IRGC Chief Hossein Salami, and two prominent nuclear scientists, Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Tehranchi and Dr. Fereydoon Abbasi. The escalation marks one of the most significant Israeli attacks on Iranian soil to date and has fueled fears of a larger conflict between the two rivals.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed he was aware of Israel’s plans ahead of the assault but denied any American involvement. Despite this, Iranian officials have accused Washington of complicity, arguing that the scale and precision of the strike suggest active coordination. The Iranian Foreign Ministry, invoking Article 51 of the UN Charter, declared its right to retaliate and warned that Israel and its supporters would bear full responsibility for the consequences.

With U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces on high alert, the risk of a broader confrontation has grown significantly. President Trump reaffirmed American support for Israel’s security, adding to regional concerns over potential military escalation.

Saudi Arabia’s response is particularly notable given its recent efforts to ease tensions with both Iran and Israel through diplomatic backchannels. The Kingdom’s public denunciation of the Israeli strike indicates a shift toward supporting de-escalation and multilateral diplomatic engagement to preserve regional peace and security.
