ISLAMABAD – In response to widespread online reports suggesting that Saudi Arabia has imposed visa bans and entry restrictions on multiple countries including Pakistan, Saudi authorities have issued a clear denial, clarifying the situation with an official statement.

Earlier, unverified claims circulated across social media and digital platforms indicating that the Kingdom had restricted entry for citizens from nations including Egypt, India, Pakistan, Morocco, Tunisia, Yemen, Algeria, Nigeria, Jordan, Sudan, Iraq, Indonesia, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh. These reports alleged the ban would take effect from April 13, 2025, and warned of a potential five-year entry prohibition for non-compliance.

However, the Saudi Tourism Centre has categorically refuted these claims, confirming that no such visa bans or entry restrictions have been officially imposed. The agency clarified that the only legitimate circular pertains to Hajj-related travel guidelines.

According to the official notice, tourist visa holders are not allowed to perform Hajj or enter the holy city of Makkah between 01 Thul Quda and 14 Thul Hijjah 1446 AH, which corresponds to April 29 to June 11, 2025. The restriction is specific to the pilgrimage period and ensures that logistical and safety measures are maintained for pilgrims holding valid Hajj visas, which are granted solely for religious purposes during the designated time frame.

Saudi authorities emphasized that these Hajj-specific guidelines should not be confused with general visa policies. No changes have been made concerning travel eligibility for tourists or visitors outside the scope of the Hajj pilgrimage.

Citizens and travelers are strongly advised to consult only official Saudi channels for updates regarding visa and entry policies, especially during the pilgrimage season, to avoid misinformation.
