The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) issued figures on Thursday that showed a weekly gain of $31 million in the foreign exchange reserves held by the central bank.
The SBP’s foreign exchange reserves were valued at $7.647 billion on October 6, an increase of $31 million from $7.615 billion on September 28.

With net reserves held by institutions other than the SBP included, the nation’s total liquid foreign currency reserves were $13.030 billion, a $1 million decrease from the previous week. Bank net reserves were $5.383 billion at the end of the week, down $32 million from the previous week.
Arif Habib Limited claims that the existing reserves are sufficient to pay imports for 1.65 months. Over the past few weeks, the central bank’s reserves have mainly remained steady around the $7.6 billion mark, despite minor weekly fluctuations.
