SC Rebukes Authorities for Lack of Panning in Karachi

The Karachi commissioner, the director general of the Sindh Building Control Authority, and a senior member of the Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) came under fire from a three-judge SC panel led by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed for their failure to provide any justification for the incorporation of land set aside for a road into a plot in the Sindhi Muslim Housing Society.

After a mukhtiarkar’s report was presented to the bench about leasing out the in question plot and having a 15-story skyscraper known as Nasla Tower built on it, a visibly irate chief justice questioned under what legal authority a mukhtiarkar could function on land owned by a housing society.
