Schools in Azad Jammu and Kashmir closed for two days

The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has announced a two-day school closure due to the ongoing torrential rainfall.

Eight people have been killed and three injured in flood-related incidents, while numerous roads and six bridges have been damaged. In higher locations, there have also been interruptions to telephone and power services.

Compensation for the victims was agreed at a meeting of the AJK government, which was presided over by the prime minister.

Hundreds of visitors are still stuck at Ratti Gali and Patliyan in the Neelum Valley. The vacationers are safe, according to the authorities, and rescue efforts will start today.
