At least seven members of the Orakzai Scouts were killed in a horrific terror attack in the Ghanda Mela neighborhood of Orakzai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to official sources on Monday.
Police say that terrorists ambushed and fired upon security cars close to the Ghanda Mela checkpoint late on Sunday night. Three other troops who were seriously hurt in the attack passed away from their wounds on Monday while receiving treatment, while four soldiers were martyred on the scene.
Havaldar Naseeb, Sepoy Rahat Khan, Sepoy Ishrat, and Sepoy Sanaullah were identified as the personnel. All were involved in counterterrorism operations with the Orakzai Scouts, a vital paramilitary group in the area.
Four suspected terrorists were killed when security forces returned fire in response to the ambush.
