Shab e Meraj in Quran Isra Wal Miraj

Although the Meraj event is described in Surah Bani Israeel which is also known as Surah Al Isra of the Qur’an, Ahadith provide clearer specifics of the occurrence. The Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH ), the final Prophet of Islam, rode a winged animal resembling a mule that was also known as a buraq.

After Surah Al Isra mentioned the Mi’raj occurrence, the accounts, teachings, acts, and quotations of Prophet Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم) were used to explain the event’s circumstances in detail. In order to lead the other prophets of Islam in prayer, Hazrat Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) proceeded to Al-Aqsa Mosque, which was the furthest mosque from his home. Jibreel, an angel of ALLAH, visited Prophet Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم) while he was resting and had his heart cleansed with pure waters before he began his trip. On Buraq, the ascent to the sky is called as Mi’raj, which literally translates as “ascension.” According to records, Shab e Meraj occurred in the year 612.

In Quran the further explanation of Shab e Meraj is in Surah Al Najam from Ayat No. 13 to 17. Which describe more about the journey of Prophet Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم) in Jannah.
