Sialkot International Airport has officially become Pakistan’s second fully cashless airport, marking a major step toward modern, digital travel services in the country.
With the support of Meezan Bank Limited, all payments at the airport are now processed exclusively through digital methods. This includes transactions at airline ticket counters, passenger lounges, parking facilities, retail outlets, food courts, and other service points. Cash payments are no longer accepted anywhere within the airport premises.
Airport officials said the move is aimed at improving passenger convenience by making transactions faster and smoother. Digital payments are expected to reduce queues, enhance transparency, minimize the risk of errors, and strengthen financial record-keeping across airport operations.
The management of Sialkot International Airport Limited stated that the transition to a cashless system reflects its commitment to innovation, efficient airport management, and delivering a better overall travel experience. They added that adopting digital solutions is essential to keeping pace with international aviation standards.
Going forward, the airport plans to further expand its digital ecosystem by working closely with regulators, banks, and industry partners. These efforts are expected to introduce more advanced facilities and improve convenience for both domestic and international travelers.
