Pakistan women’s cricket team has officially secured their place in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 after a commanding victory against Thailand in the 12th match of the Women’s World Cup Qualifier held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Opting to bat first, Pakistan found themselves in early trouble at 85 for 4. However, a crucial 97-run partnership between Sidra Amin and captain Fatima Sana brought stability and momentum to the innings. Sidra played a brilliant knock of 80 runs, while Fatima added 62 runs and showcased her all-round talent with a strong bowling performance later in the game.

Thailand’s bowlers initially made an impact with Thipatcha Putthawong picking up 2 wickets for 37 runs. Phannita Maya and Onnicha Kamchomphu chipped in with a wicket each. Despite the early breakthroughs, they couldn’t maintain pressure as Pakistan posted a competitive total of 205 runs.

In response, Thailand struggled with the bat and were bowled out for just 118 runs in under 35 overs. Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance with Fatima Sana, Rameen Shamim, and Nashra Sandhu each taking three wickets. Sadia Iqbal also contributed with a wicket, ensuring a dominant all-round display from the team.

This comprehensive win not only highlighted Pakistan’s growing strength in women’s cricket but also confirmed their qualification for the upcoming Women’s World Cup in 2025, marking a major milestone for the team and their preparations for the global tournament.
