Lahore Qalandars’ star all-rounder Sikandar Raza has shared his thoughts on the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, highlighting both the progress and areas that still need improvement. While appreciating the league’s recent adoption of advanced technologies, Raza believes that PSL still lags behind the Indian Premier League (IPL) in certain aspects, particularly in the monitoring of no-balls.

Raza, who has been in impressive form during the tournament, emphasized the importance of precision in officiating, especially when it comes to waist-high no-balls. He pointed out that the IPL has set a benchmark by introducing digital tracking systems that take into account a player’s exact height to accurately assess whether a delivery is legal. This level of technological integration helps reduce human error and ensures fair play, something Raza hopes to see in PSL in the near future.

The Pakistan-born Zimbabwean cricketer noted that while PSL has made significant strides by introducing new technologies this season, there is still room for growth. He expressed optimism that PSL organizers would soon follow the IPL’s lead in incorporating digital tracking for no-balls, which would enhance the overall standard of the competition.

Raza made these remarks during the post-match press conference after Lahore Qalandars’ high-scoring game against Multan Sultans. Despite his resilient half-century, Lahore Qalandars fell short in their chase of a daunting target of 229. His performance and candid comments reflect his commitment to the sport and his desire to see PSL continue evolving into one of the world’s top T20 leagues.

With players like Sikandar Raza advocating for innovation, the future of PSL looks promising as it strives to match the technological and operational standards of global leagues like the IPL.
