The Sindh Education Department has instructed schools across the province to collect free textbooks from students once the annual examinations are completed.

According to a department spokesperson, schools have been directed to formally record the return of textbooks on students’ result cards and maintain a detailed register documenting books issued and received. The measure applies to students from primary to higher secondary levels, making it mandatory for institutions to ensure book recovery across all grades.

All retrieved textbooks must be securely stored in school book banks for reuse in future academic sessions. The department said this step is intended to strengthen inventory management and ensure the timely availability of books for upcoming classes.

Additionally, district education officers have been asked to submit updated stock records of textbooks to their respective regional directors to ensure proper monitoring and accountability.
