Sindh Govt Approved the Purchase of Hybrid Buses for Karachi
ISLAMABAD, January 9, 2023- Sindh cabinet approved the budget for the purchase of 43 hybrid buses for the people of Karachi.
The Sindh government approved spending Rs1.7 billion to acquire 43 extra 12-meter hybrid buses for the city’s Peoples Bus Service. Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon briefed the cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, on the proposal to increase the number of buses in Karachi.

The prime minister accepted his recommendation and ordered the disbursement of Rs1.7 billion for the purchase of buses. Approximately 250 air-conditioned buses were acquired from China for the People’s Bus Service project. Currently, 130 of them operate on nine different routes in Karachi, ten in Hyderabad, and six in Larkana.
