Six militants, including a highly wanted terrorist, were killed during a joint operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police in Lakki Marwat.
According to police officials, the operation was conducted in the Takhti Khel area under the direct supervision of Bannu Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan and District Police Officer Nazir Khan.
Among those killed was militant commander Nusratullah, who carried a bounty of Rs2.5 million. Police said he was wanted in more than 28 criminal cases, including acts of terrorism and attacks on law enforcement personnel.
Officials said the militants were armed with modern and heavy weapons. However, a strong and timely response by security forces resulted in the killing of six terrorists, while several others were injured during the exchange of fire.
Following the operation, police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace any remaining suspects. Authorities said the operation was ongoing and security in the area had been tightened.
