Mild earthquake tremors were felt once again in several areas of Karachi on Saturday morning, continuing a concerning trend of seismic activity in the region. According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake struck at 9:54 am and registered a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was located north of Malir, at a depth of 35 kilometres.

Residents in various neighbourhoods, including Quaidabad, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulzar Hijri, and areas along University Road, reported experiencing brief tremors. Many described the shaking as lasting only a few seconds, prompting people to temporarily vacate buildings and gather outdoors.

A local resident from Shah Faisal Colony shared that people came out of their homes and offices as a precaution after feeling the jolts. However, there were no reports of damage or casualties.

Seismologists have reassured the public that the earthquake was minor and does not indicate an immediate threat. A spokesperson from the Seismological Centre stated that the activity is part of an ongoing pattern of low-magnitude tremors being monitored since the beginning of June.

This latest incident marks the 39th recorded seismic event in Karachi and its surrounding areas since June 1. The increasing frequency of these tremors has raised concerns among both the general public and seismic experts.

Authorities have advised residents to remain calm and stay informed about safety protocols in case of further seismic activity. Preparedness measures and awareness remain critical in ensuring public safety amid ongoing seismic developments.
