Smart City Project Installed in Thatta
Sharjeel Ahmed Kharal, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Hyderabad, stated that the smart city project in the district of Thatta will provide peace, suppress crime, and uphold law and order.

As he briefed media on the project’s launch at the office of the Thatta SSP, he stated that it was impossible to improve service delivery in the present day without the appropriate application of information technology.
The SSP stated that the smart city project in Thatta would prove to be a revolutionary system for crime control, traffic management, and monitoring due to the installation of CCTV cameras at sensitive locations across the city and the consolidation of all police-related affairs under one roof.

All of the equipment was acquired by having contributors/donors pay the vendors directly. It extends up to 12 kilometers in different directions and encompasses all entry/exit points and significant landmarks in the towns of Thatta and Makli.
The objective of the initiative, according to him, was to bring all modern police facilities under one roof, which would not only reduce crime but also aid in locating criminals.
