Social Media Still Blocked as PTA Receive Unblocking Instructions
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reinstated mobile internet services in most parts of the country, with the exception of a few sensitive areas. However, social media platforms such as Twitter and YouTube remain inaccessible to users in Pakistan.
A spokesperson from the PTA disclosed this information, stating that certain social media platforms are still banned, but users should have access to WhatsApp.

The spokesperson further mentioned that the PTA has not received any instructions from the Ministry of Interior regarding the restoration of social media platforms.
In some sensitive areas across the country, mobile internet services are still completely blocked, according to the spokesperson.
The apps were initially blocked based on the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs shortly after the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
While most fixed broadband internet services continued to function, social media platforms were excluded.

The PTA official added that a decision to lift the ban will be made soon, following directives from the federal government.
Regarding a potential shutdown of data services in the near future, the PTA stated that no instructions have been received thus far concerning an internet shutdown on Monday.
