Pakistan bounced back strongly to level the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, securing a 128-run victory through the DLS method in the second ODI after losing the opening match.
Young all-rounder Maaz Sadaqat delivered a standout performance. He scored his maiden ODI half-century, making 75 runs from 46 balls with six fours and five sixes. He also impressed with the ball, taking three important wickets in a five-over spell while conceding only 23 runs. His performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field, hoping to repeat their strong performance from the first ODI. However, Pakistan’s top order started aggressively this time.
Maaz Sadaqat and Sahibzada Farhan provided a quick start, setting the early pace for Pakistan’s innings. Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha later stabilized the innings and helped push the total to a competitive score.
Agha’s innings ended in a controversial moment when he was run out at the non-striker’s end, which sparked debate among fans and analysts. Despite the incident, Pakistan continued to build their total and finished the innings at 275.
While defending the target, Pakistan’s bowlers dominated from the beginning. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi took two early wickets, while Haris Rauf led the bowling attack with three wickets. Faheem Ashraf and Wasim Jr also contributed with one wicket each, while Maaz Sadaqat added three wickets to his impressive all-round performance.
Bangladesh was eventually bowled out for 114 in 23.3 overs, giving Pakistan a comfortable victory and leveling the series ahead of the final match.
