Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said he was repeatedly stopped at different points during his visit to Lahore, warning that such actions would only increase divisions and hatred in the country.

Speaking to the media before leaving Lahore, the KP chief minister said the Punjab government had created an atmosphere of “oppression” from the very first day. “I am being stopped again and again. Those with a fake mandate do not realise that this approach will only deepen divisions and fuel hatred,” he said.

Sohail Afridi completed a three-day visit to Lahore and has now returned to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders termed his visit successful and said it sent a positive message to party workers.

During the visit, a consultative meeting of PTI leaders was held, attended by Salman Akram Raja and other senior party figures. Participants said the chief minister’s presence in Lahore boosted the morale of party workers, leaders, and their families. They also requested him to visit Lahore again in the near future.

As part of his engagements, CM Afridi met columnists, senior journalists, bureau chiefs, and social media activists. He also visited the shrine of Allama Iqbal, where he offered Fateha.

The visit comes amid ongoing political tensions between provincial governments, with PTI leaders accusing authorities of creating obstacles for their political activities.
