Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur instructed the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) to ensure strict adherence to land-use rules and building control regulations for the development of successful and environmentally-friendly housing projects.

Minister Gandapur underlined that the municipal government must adhere to environmental criteria, such as internal and external open space for residential/commercial areas, in order to provide a healthy atmosphere for inhabitants. All of this is stated during a seminar on land-use regulations and building codes.

In addition, he states that parking facilities are essential in all buildings that connect to wide roads and streets in order to reduce traffic congestion. Mr. Shakeel Ahmed Mian, Secretary of the Department of Local Government and Engr. Ijaz Afzal, Director General of the Peshawar Development Authority, also attended the briefing.
