Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan has found herself in legal trouble after purchasing agricultural land in Alibaug, Maharashtra. According to Indian media reports, Suhana recently bought a plot worth ₹12.91 crore in Thal village, but the land had been officially reserved for farming use.
The property was sold to her by three sisters — Anjali, Rekha, and Priya — who had inherited it from their parents. Reports say Suhana paid ₹77.46 lakh in stamp duty during the transaction. However, questions arose when official records listed her as a “farmer,” a requirement under Maharashtra law for anyone buying agricultural land. The plot itself was registered under Deja Vu Farm Pvt Ltd, a company linked to Suhana’s grandmother and aunt.
Authorities have taken note of the deal, with Resident Deputy Collector Sandesh directing the Alibaug Tehsildar to file a detailed, unbiased report.
This is not Suhana’s only investment in the area. Within a year of her first deal, she also bought a beachfront property worth ₹10 crore, taking her total investment in Alibaug to nearly ₹22 crore between 2023 and 2024. The scrutiny has sparked speculation about whether regulations preventing non-farmers from purchasing agricultural land in Maharashtra may have been bypassed. Officials are now reviewing the transactions to decide if any laws were violated.
