Suno, the AI-powered music creation platform, has launched a new feature called Covers, taking its abilities beyond creating original music. Currently in beta, this feature allows users to change a song’s genre with AI, giving existing tracks a new sound.

With Covers, users can change songs into completely different musical styles, similar to applying a filter to a photo. It can handle various audio inputs, from casual recordings to professionally produced tracks, while keeping the original theme intact. The idea is to keep the core elements of the original song while offering a special musical interpretation.
Users simply select a song from their library and choose the “Cover Song” option to use this feature. Suno AI then processes the track, adjusting it to the desired genre. Additionally, it can even add genre-specific lyrics to instrumental tracks. While Suno AI music transformation can automatically develop lyrics that match the style, the company suggests users pinch them for better clarity and meaning.
In a blog post, Suno said that Covers lets users experiment with genre changes, add vocals to instrumentals, or explore how their music might sound in various styles. This new tool opens up many possibilities for AI music modification.
