Supreme Court set to hear challenges against 26th Amendment

The Supreme Court has scheduled the hearing of petitions against the 26th Amendment to the Constitution for October 7.

At 11:30 am, the case will be heard by a larger bench consisting of eight members, presided over by Justice Aminuddin Khan.

In addition, Justices Jamal Khan Mandokhel, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Ayesha Malik, Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Musarat Hilali, Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Shahid Bilal are on the bench.

Azam Nazir Tarar, Federal Law Minister, presented the eagerly anticipated 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill 2024 to the Senate on October 20, 2024.

In order to strengthen Pakistan’s legal system and reshape the government, the legislation includes a number of significant reforms.
