According to an official release, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has introduced an electronic filing system for all of its registries.
Details indicate that the e-filing system is currently operational at the registries in Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, and Quetta in addition to the main office in Islamabad. The SC has declared that petitions, memos, decisions, and orders would now be accessible online.
The official statement also stated that plaintiffs will receive updates via email under the new case management system. It is anticipated that e-filing will drastically cut down on paper use, expenses, and time.
Lawyers are now required by the Supreme Court to register for the e-filing system. The notification further stated that Bar Councils had been asked for the email addresses and mobile numbers of attorneys.
Additionally, government agencies have been instructed to designate a point of contact to help with the e-filing procedure. To increase awareness and offer assistance with e-filing-related issues, a phone number has been provided.
