Swat Motorway: PM Inaugurates Three Tunnels
On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan traveled to the Swat Motorway and opened three tunnels that will drastically cut down on travel time. On the occasion of the opening, he visited the finished tunnels and unveiled the plaque to commemorate the occasion.

Mahmood Khan, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Major-General Kamal Azfar, the director-general of the Frontier Works Organization, welcomed the prime minister upon his arrival at Zalam Kot, Malakand.
The FWO DG briefed the prime minister on the 80 km long Swat Motorway, which had three tunnels with lengths of 1266, 271 and 324 meters and seven interchanges.
He noted that Ravi City was being built in Lahore in addition to the two megaprojects of the Bhasha and Mohmand dams to address energy needs and encourage economic activity.
According to him, tourism generates about $20 billion in Malaysia, $40 billion in Turkey, and $60 to $80 billion in Switzerland. Pakistan’s northern regions, including Gilgit Baltistan and KP, have more land than Switzerland, which could be used to develop skill sports that would generate significant revenue for the country’s coffers.
