Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum has issued a public apology to his fans after controversy erupted over him waving an Indian flag during a concert in Nepal. The incident, which went viral over the weekend, drew widespread criticism online.
In a recent interview on a private news channel, Anjum explained that the moment happened while performing his diss track ‘Kaun Talha’ aimed at Indian rapper Naezy. He said a fan handed him the Indian flag, and in the heat of the performance, he misunderstood it as a sign of support from the audience. “In that moment, I didn’t realise how many seconds I stood there holding it,” he said.
Anjum admitted that he initially defended the act on social media, posting that he would do it again, saying, “My heart has no place for hate. My art has no borders.” However, during the interview, he confirmed that his apology is unconditional.
“To everyone whose heart was hurt by anything I did, I apologise,” he said. “I am what I am because of Pakistan. Everywhere I go, they call me the finest or biggest Pakistani rapper.” His statement aims to clarify his intentions and reaffirm his connection to Pakistani fans.
