Pop superstar Taylor Swift has revealed that marriage never crossed her mind seriously — until she met NFL star Travis Kelce. Speaking in a candid interview with Emma Bunton on Heart Radio, the 14-time Grammy winner opened up about her engagement, future plans, and how Kelce has changed her perspective on love.
“I never thought about weddings until now”
Swift admitted she wasn’t the kind of person who grew up dreaming about bridal gowns or planning her big day.
“You’d think I’d been the type to obsess over weddings, but honestly, I never thought about it until I met the person,” she said with a smile.
She added that Kelce is the first person who made her imagine a future with marriage at its center. “This is the first time I’ve thought about that,” she laughed, joking about how her friends’ global schedules will make bachelorette party planning tricky.
Brushing off the “married life era” buzz
Fans have quickly dubbed this moment as Swift’s “married life era,” but the singer gently pushed back.
“I mean, I just got engaged. These things just happened to me. I’m still soaking it all in,” she said.
Still, Swift couldn’t hide her joy: “I’m really excited about what’s ahead,” she admitted, hinting that marriage may finally be part of her fairytale.
The proposal and what’s next
Swift and Kelce, both 35, announced their engagement on August 26, the same day she appeared on The Graham Norton Show. She revealed Kelce popped the question just after recording an episode of his podcast New Heights.
As for wedding plans, Swift said she isn’t rushing into details just yet.
“I’m prioritizing the release of my new album, The Life of a Showgirl, first,” she explained.
