A 12-year-old madrassa boy named Farhan reportedly died as a result of harsh torture allegedly administered by his teachers in the Chaliyar area of Khwazakhela tehsil in Swat, causing a terrible occurrence.

Police officials claim that Farhan was severely beaten by a religious seminary’s teachers for skipping classes. After being taken to a hospital in critical condition, the child was pronounced dead.

A first information report (FIR) has been filed in the wake of the incident against Muhammad Omar, the madrassa’s head teacher, and his sons Abdullah and Ehsanullah. While raids are being carried out to capture the two other suspects who are presently at large, the police stated that Abdullah had been taken into custody.

Following allegations from two additional minors, the Khwazakhela Police Station has filed a case against seven other madrassa teachers in addition to the three primary suspects. All ten of them are currently being charged with Farhan’s death and student mistreatment.

Law enforcement is doing all they can to apprehend everyone engaged in the event, according to a police spokesperson.

Protests and public indignation

The local community is deeply outraged by the incident. By putting Farhan’s body on the road, angry locals protested and called for swift justice and the arrest of all those responsible.

Protesters demanded that those responsible for the violence against children in the guise of discipline face harsh legal consequences. To avoid such tragedies in the future, they urged the government to establish tighter regulations of religious seminaries.
