Temperature Drops Below 0°C in Sindh For the First Time in Years
Following the conclusion of the wet season, a terrible cold wave has gripped the country, with temperatures dropping drastically in different sections of Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Owais Hyder, a weather analyst and CEO of Pak Weather, told ProPakistani that while this isn’t the lowest temperature ever recorded in Sindh, it is still regarded important for the province because temperatures haven’t been this low in several years. Sindh’s lowest temperature ever recorded was -5.4°C at Mohen-Jo-Daro in 2006.
To clarify, Sindh’s Gorakh Hills are nicknamed as the “Murree of Sindh” since the hill station receives snowfall in winter and experiences sub-zero temperatures. However, because there is no meteorological observatory there, officials have not kept a record of its temperatures over the years. As a result, Mohen-Jo-temperature Daro’s of -5.4°C is considered the lowest in the province, according to Owais.
Meanwhile, other sections of the province are being affected by the extreme cold wave.
