With effect from Tuesday, July 1, the federal government has raised the price of gasoline by Rs8.36 per liter for the upcoming two weeks.
Details show that the new price of petrol has been set at Rs266.79 per liter.
In the meantime, the government said that the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs 10.39 per litre, to Rs 277.98.
According to sources, gasoline and diesel now have to pay a carbon charge of Rs2.50 per litre.
Prior to this, on June 15, the federal government declared that gasoline and diesel prices would rise significantly, starting on June 16 and lasting for the next two weeks.
The Ministry of Finance announced that the price of high-speed diesel increased by Rs7.95 per litre, while the price of petrol climbed by Rs4.80 per litre.
After the most recent hike, high-speed diesel was priced at Rs262.59 and petrol at Rs258.43.
The notification on the updated petroleum product pricing has been duly released by the Ministry of Finance.
