A Los Angeles resale shop lost thousands of dollars in merchandise after thieves targeted only one item — the popular Labubu plush dolls.
The break-in happened early Wednesday at One Stop Sales in La Puente. Security footage shows four suspects smashing the front door and taking boxes of the collectible toys, worth an estimated $30,000.
Co-owner Joanna Avendano said the burglars ignored all other items. She believes they may have seen the store’s recent social media post announcing a Labubu restock. The shop had been open just two months.
Deputies say the suspects fled in a Toyota Tacoma, later found abandoned. No arrests have been made.
Labubu dolls, made by Pop Mart, have become a global trend thanks to TikTok and celebrity fans like Rihanna and Blackpink’s Lisa. Priced up to $500 in stores, rare editions can sell online for thousands — fueling a booming resale market and even counterfeits.
