Three Chinese nationals have been killed in an attack on a Chinese company’s camp in Tajikistan. The incident occurred on the night of November 26 in the Khatlon region. The Tajik Embassy in Kuwait confirmed the deaths and stated that militant groups operating from Afghan soil were responsible for the attack.

The embassy said cross-border attacks from Afghanistan have continued despite Tajikistan’s efforts to maintain peace along the frontier. It added that Tajik authorities have lodged a strong protest and urged the Afghan interim government to take serious and effective steps to secure the border and prevent militant activity.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has expressed deep sorrow and strong condemnation over the killing of the Chinese citizens. Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan was “deeply grieved” by the loss of three Chinese workers in what he described as a terrorist attack. He stated that Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the governments and people of China and Tajikistan.

Andrabi said the targeting of Chinese nationals is “highly regrettable and strongly condemnable,” adding that the use of drones in the attack shows the severity of the threat coming from Afghanistan. He reminded that Pakistan has repeatedly suffered from terrorism originating across the border and understands the pain of its Chinese and Tajik partners.

He further noted that the presence of militant groups under the Afghan Taliban government remains a serious concern. The spokesperson stressed that decisive action against terrorists operating from Afghan territory is the only effective way to address the growing threat. He added that Pakistan will continue working for peace and stability in the region.
