In a major twist in the high-profile kidnapping and torture case, TikToker Samiya Hijab and suspect Hassan Zahid have reportedly reached a settlement, according to sources close to the matter.
The agreement, however, could not be formally submitted in court after the bail hearing was adjourned on Saturday at the District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad. The case was being heard by Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry.
Hassan Zahid has filed bail applications in both cases registered against him. The court issued notices to all parties, but plaintiff Samiya Hijab did not appear, leading to the postponement of proceedings until September 15.
Sources revealed that Samiya and Hassan have agreed to resolve the matter, with Samiya expected to file her affidavit and record her statement in court during the next hearing.
The Shalimar Police had earlier booked Zahid under multiple charges, including kidnapping, threats, and attempted abduction. Samiya alleged that Zahid had been pressuring her for marriage and, after her repeated refusals, attempted to kidnap her outside her home. She claimed he tried to force her into his car and threatened her life, adding that she had recordings to back her claims.
Following her video statement that went viral, Islamabad Police arrested Zahid and registered cases under several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including harassment, assault, and attempted abduction. Authorities had assured strict legal action to ensure the TikToker’s safety.
With both sides now moving toward a settlement, the future of the case will likely be determined in the next court session, where Samiya’s statement is expected to be officially recorded.
