Up until October 5, 2023, more than 2 million people had filed income tax returns for the tax year 2023.
For the tax year 2022 through to June 30, 2022, there were 4.2 million people who filed returns overall last year. The 4.2 million figure also covers taxpayers who submitted their returns between June 30 and September 30 of 2022.

By October 31, 2023, the Board had extended the deadline for filing income tax returns.
Up until September 30, 2023, the FBR received 1.93 million income tax returns in total, up from 1.87 million the previous year, a 0.06 million increase.
