Tourism Being Promoted to Strengthen National Economy
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib stated in Faisalabad that the tourist sector is being actively promoted in order to boost the national economy and lead the nation to progress and prosperity.

The minister praised the fact that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has begun direct flights from Faisalabad to Skardu, which will help promote tourism in accordance with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision. The minister made his remarks at a local hotel in conjunction with PIA’s Faisalabad-to-Skardu flight operations.
He stated that Pakistan is a treasure mine of stunning and incredibly diversified natural beauty, and added that the government has taken initiatives to boost tourism. In this context, he stated that Gilgit will receive a new airport.

However, he emphasised the importance of promoting Islamic tourism and stated that all available resources would be devoted to promoting the tourism business so that people from all over the world would visit Pakistan to experience its magnificent locations and places.
The state minister stated that the government was criticised for opening the Kartarpur border, but the move proved fairly fruitful as many Sikh community members visited their religious site in Pakistan.
