Toyota Suspends Production for the 6th Time This Year
The production of Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has once more been put on hold as a result of an inventory and part scarcity brought on by import restrictions.
The most recent notification states that the assembly factory would be shut down from July 21 to August 3. Earlier today, the firm informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) of the situation.
The automaker and its suppliers continue to have trouble importing raw materials and obtaining clearance for their shipments as a result of the non-issuance of Letters of Credit (LCs) and supply chain issues.
Vendors are unable to provide the company with essential supplies and components, which has affected the supply chain of the company.
This is the sixth notification of a production shutdown issued by Indus Motor this year. The company previously announced a full plant shutdown from June 26 to June 27, June 3 to June 8, May 2 to May 3, February 1 to February 14, and then again from March 24 to March 27 due to an inventory deficit.
Similar problems are plaguing the regional auto industry, with many automakers allegedly treading water.
