Trading Remains Dull in Stock – Al Sadat Marketing
KARACHI: Arif Habib Ltd disclosed that trading on the Pakistan Stock Exchange remained sluggish since investors’ perception of risk aversion grew as the number of Covid-19 cases increased.

The benchmark index closed at 45,763 points, with no change from the previous day. Market participation decreased 26.7% to 240 million shares, while the value of shares traded dropped 5.9% to $34.6m. Commercial Banking (43.24 points), Oil and Gas Exploration (28.25 points), Fertilizer (18.24 points), Tobacco (10.09 points), and Pharmaceuticals are the sectors contributing the most to the benchmark index (9.73 points).

Yousef Weaving Mills Ltd lost 3.96 percent of its value, followed by Avanceon Ltd (3.4 percent), Unity Foods Ltd (3.36 percent), Aisha Steel Mills Ltd (2.99 percent), and Kohat Cement Company Ltd (2.99 percent) (2.78pc). Foreign investors were net purchasers of $0.213m worth of securities.
