More than 1,100 traffic officers will be stationed across the city to provide smooth traffic flow. Citizens are urged to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience caused by roadblocks and closures during the summit.

According to the ITP, traffic from Peshawar to Rawat via GT Road will be rerouted through Taxila, Motorway, Chakri Interchange, Chak Beli Road, and Rawat. Similarly, vehicles traveling from Lahore to Peshawar via GT Road will be redirected to Rawat, Chak Beli Road, Chakri Interchange, and Motorway.

Those commuting on Margalla Road towards Rawalpindi will be diverted to 9th Avenue, while traffic from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point will also be redirected to 9th Avenue. The ITP advises travelers to follow these alternative routes to avoid delays due to Islamabad roadblocks.

For traffic between Bhara Kahu and Rawalpindi, Korang Road, Bani Gala, and Lehtrar Road have been suggested as the best alternative routes. Motorists from Rawalpindi heading to Islamabad will be diverted via Saddar, Murree Road, and 9th Avenue to manage the SCO Summit travel disruptions. Additionally, the Expressway between Zero Point and Koral Chowk will be completely closed, with service roads open as an alternative.

Heavy traffic traveling from Peshawar to Lahore will be diverted through Taxila, Motorway, Tarnol Phatak, and Fateh Jang Road Interchange, while heavy traffic from Lahore to Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be redirected to Chak Beli Road and Chakri Interchange.

From October 14 to 16, all heavy vehicles will be restricted from entering Islamabad. The traffic police have requested citizens to cooperate and use the designated routes for easier travel. To minimize SCO Summit travel issues, ITP will provide real-time updates on traffic conditions through their helpline and social media platforms. Citizens are also advised to check these updates before starting their journey to ensure the earliest possible delays.
