US President Donald Trump has invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to join the newly formed Board of Peace for Gaza, according to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi.

The spokesperson confirmed that Pakistan has received a formal invitation to participate in the board, which has been set up to promote peace and stability in Gaza. He said Pakistan will continue to play an active role in international efforts aimed at achieving sustainable peace in the region and will remain engaged with the global community to support this objective.

Tahir Hussain Andrabi reiterated Pakistan’s position that a lasting solution to the Palestine issue must be achieved in line with United Nations resolutions. He added that Pakistan will continue to support diplomatic initiatives focused on securing a durable peace in the Middle East.

Earlier, the White House announced the members of the Gaza Board of Peace under President Trump’s peace plan. The board is intended to coordinate security arrangements, humanitarian assistance, and reconstruction efforts in Gaza, while also encouraging reforms within the Palestinian Authority and its governance structures.

Meanwhile, Israel has rejected the formation of the Gaza board, saying it goes against Israeli government policy. According to foreign media reports, a statement from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was not consulted on the establishment of the board.

The statement also said that Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar will raise the issue with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
