Tulaja Fort in Khushab to Be Conserved Under RS 30m Project
The Khushab district’s awe-inspiring Tulaja fort, which rests on a plateau atop a hill, has been designated for preservation and archeological excavation by the government of Punjab.

Tulaja fort, which had remained hidden from public view with several untold tales, is a collection of different ancient structures built with varying sized carved or chiseled stone bricks/blocks that rest on the 22-acre plateau atop a hill in Khora village of Soan valley, some 34 kilometers away from Khushab city and accessible via an 8km Katcha road from Soan-Skaisar road.
According to officials, the structures department has been granted Rs 19,839 million, while the archaeological department will use the remaining Rs 10,161 million.
Muhammad Hassan, Deputy Director of Archaeology (South), and his team would conduct the archeological research, including exploration and excavation.

There would be documentation of any historically significant remains uncovered. A supervisor and sub-engineer would be assigned to the project for two years. Additionally, around eight pavilions would be constructed at the shrine and atop it. Additionally, the Buildings department would study the potential of making water accessible on the plateau.
