UAE Agrees to Extend Current Loan and Provide Additional $1 Billion to Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, January 20, 2023- President of UAE has agreed to roll over the existing loan of $2 billion and provide a $1 billion additional loan.
Today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the president of the UAE in Abu Dhabi. The president of the UAE welcomed the prime minister and wished Pakistan growth and prosperity. He lauded the historic ties between the two nations as well as the Pakistani community’s contributions to the UAE.
The prime minister thanked the president of the UAE for inviting him to the friendly nation. The two leaders reviewed the existing brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE and examined ways to enhance these ties, particularly in trade, investment, and energy. Additionally, the two leaders discussed regional and international topics of mutual interest.
Both parties committed to expanding investment cooperation, fostering partnerships, and providing chances for investment integration between the two nations. They were also pleased with the steady progress made in bilateral relations. They concurred on the significance of increased bilateral interactions and regular conversation at all levels in order to strengthen and propel the relationship. The president consented to the prime minister’s invitation for a state visit to Pakistan. The dates will be determined by diplomatic means.
