UAE Announces Discounts on Water and Electricity Bills
The President of UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has taken a commendable initiative by instructing the Ministry of Community Development to collaborate with Etihad Water and Electricity in providing support to low-income farmers facing financial difficulties.
Collaboratively, the Ministry of Community Development and Etihad Water and Electricity have announced the implementation of a subsidy program for farmers, set to commence in July 2023. This program aims to alleviate the financial burden on low-income farmers by directly reducing their monthly electricity and water bills.

In addition to this, the UAE recently revealed ambitious plans to enhance the agricultural industry, as part of its comprehensive strategy to boost the economy in this sector. These plans permit farms to operate holiday homes and offer tourist activities on their premises.

However, it is important to note that individuals interested in engaging in tourism-related ventures on agricultural land will be required to obtain a license and limit the utilization of their land for this purpose to a maximum of 30%.
