UAE Astronaut Makes History, Becomes First Arab to Do Spacewalk
UAE astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi made a proud moment in UAE to make history as he became the first Arab to conduct a spacewalk. Spacewalks, commonly called Extravehicular Activity (EVA), are necessary for sustaining, expanding, and improving the International Space Station(ISS) capabilities.

There are various steps, like the maintenance and repair of the systems, the installation of the new hardware and software, and the assembling and building of the ISS modules. These tasks are that astronauts can carry out during the spacewalks.
Sultan AlNeyadi, along with Russian cosmonaut work named as Pyotr Dubrov, spent almost six hours outside the International Space Station to maintain labor and install new equipment.
Additionally, spacewalks on the ISS serve as a symbol of international collaboration.
They bring together astronauts from different nations and encourage them to access resources and information.

For the UAE space agency, the spacewalk was part of the larger mission, KhalifaSat.It tracks climate change and monitors environmental changes in the UAE and the surrounding region.
The UAE has made significant investments in space exploration in recent years, including creating its space agency. The country hopes to inspire future generations of Arab scientists and astronauts and contribute to the global community’s understanding of space and life on Earth.
Few eligible astronauts get the chance to complete spacewalks because of the high level of risks. The pressurized resistance of the suit makes the EVA process physically demanding. Still, it is also risky because they have to concentrate on their work and safety.
