Underpass Junction Proposed by LDA at Gulshan-e-Ravi
Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has planned to construct an underpass at the T-junction of Gulshan-e-Ravi near Band Road. The Provincial Working Group (PWP) cleared 3.40 billion Pakistani rupees for projects that will be presented for approval at a January meeting.

According to our sources, the LDA had intended to upgrade the T-Junction, but they have been forced to abandon their plans for the underpass. The new project’s objectives are to construct an underpass and widen Band Road.
The length of the new underpass will be 470 meters. A one-way underpass will be built on the highways heading from Sagian to the Babu Sabu Interchange. The goal of the project, according to the LDA, is to improve traffic flow on one of the city’s busiest routes that carries significant traffic and connects two of the city’s busiest neighborhoods.

The Band Road is riddled with potholes, resulting in frequent traffic backups. The LDA is also committed to the dual-lane underpass at Samanabad Chowk, which would alleviate Gulshan-e-incoming Ravi’s and outgoing traffic congestion.
