Unveiling of Lahore Master Plan on December 31
The Punjab Minister for Local Government, Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid, has reportedly announced that the Lahore Master Plan will be launched on December 31, 2021. The master plan of the city will prioritize the construction of enduring urban infrastructure.

According to reports, the minister indicated during a question session of the provincial legislature that the new master plan will aid in mitigating rising population concerns and increasing resource pressure. The regularization of unauthorized housing developments constructed on state or agricultural land will also be a focus of this plan. According to the minister, the initiative will contribute to the long-term viability of the city.

Recently, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) conducted seminars to engage with foreign specialists and engineers, as well as members of the general public, in order to incorporate their suggestions into the city’s infrastructure development. According to LDA sources, the plan will focus on four areas: smart city infrastructure, urban transit, urban governance, pollution, and the regularisation of urban development.
