Urban Forest Developed in Nooriabad
Karachi: According to a news release, a new urban forest has been created in the industrial district of Nooriabad. On 2.5 acres, Pakistan Cables Ltd has created a forest that is home to almost 40,000 trees. 2019 saw the start of tree planting at the new Pakistan Cables production site in Nooriabad.

Shahzad Qureshi, a well-known urban forest entrepreneur, has adopted the tried-and-true Japanese urban forestation method created by Akira Miyawaki.
Urban woods encourage environmental education among the general population and a healthier environment.
“We aim to motivate people to step up and join us in giving back to our world by creating the urban forest on an industrial estate,” the statement reads.

In the urban forest, 59 indigenous species have been planted. According to Mr. Qureshi, Miyawaki’s method causes the trees to grow 10 times more quickly than they would naturally, resulting in a self-sustaining forest in two to three years.
