US donates 3.7 million doses of Pfizer vaccine to Pakistan
Through the COVAX facility, the United States (US) delivered approximately 3.7 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Pakistan in order to assist the country in vaccinating its population against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the previous twenty-four hours, Pakistan reported 4,553 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,140,411.
Additionally, at least 85 deaths were documented throughout this time frame. In the United States, 25,320 individuals have perished to the virus. In addition, 3,413 recoveries were reported over the preceding twenty-four hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,022,847.
The 3.7 million doses delivered today are in addition to the 5.5 million doses of Moderna vaccine that the US government contributed to Pakistan in July, increasing the total number of doses sent from the United States to Pakistan to over 9.2 million, according to the statement.

According to a press release issued by the US State Department today, the donation is a portion of the 500 million Pfizer doses the United States purchased this summer to deliver to 92 countries around the world, including Pakistan, to fulfill President Joe Biden’s pledge to provide safe and effective vaccines worldwide and bolster the global fight against the pandemic.
