The meeting was attended by VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioğlu, along with Aamir Ibrahim and Syed Zaheer Mehdi, reflecting the company’s strategic focus on the Pakistani market.
During the discussion, the finance minister welcomed VEON’s continued investment and highlighted the success of Pakistan’s recent multiband spectrum auction. He described the process as transparent and balanced, ensuring both fair pricing and long-term sustainability for the telecom sector.
Terzioğlu acknowledged Pakistan’s improving economic outlook and praised the government’s efforts to create a more stable and investor-friendly environment. He also emphasized VEON’s plans to expand beyond traditional telecom services and play a larger role in Pakistan’s digital transformation.
The talks also covered broader economic reforms, foreign investment opportunities, and the role of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital finance in driving growth.
Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim highlighted the company’s contributions to Pakistan’s digital ecosystem, particularly through financial inclusion initiatives like digital payments and QR-based solutions. He noted that these efforts are supporting government programs, including targeted subsidy distribution.
The finance minister appreciated VEON and Jazz for their role in advancing a cashless economy and strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure.
Both sides agreed to deepen collaboration in telecom and technology, with a shared goal of supporting Pakistan’s economic development and accelerating its shift toward a more digitally connected economy.
